Field Service Technician
Location:
Resident Tech based in Grand Island (or surrounding area) Job Description
Responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of heavy equipment.
ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site equipment inspections and maintenance at customer locations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and perform necessary repairs.
Collaborate with the Service Manager to schedule and prioritize field service calls.
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
Build knowledge of dealer-supported product lines, service standards, and procedures.
Keep abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment while working in the field.
Maintain remote parts inventory.
Willingness for overnight travel, including some multi-day events.
Actively pursue new business opportunities in the area of responsibility.
Act as an ambassador of the company with customers.
Minimum 3 years working in a full-time technician/mechanic role on heavy‑duty chassis.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical experience.
Welding/cutting torch experience.
Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal, organizational, and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Skills & Qualifications
Direct industry experience.
Class B CDL.
Experience working with firetrucks, such as a firefighter who has done maintenance or someone who has worked on firetrucks.

Work EnvironmentThis is a resident technician role based out of your home. You will travel to job sites in Western Nebraska. The position requires field service, preventive maintenance, truck repair, diesel repair, and work with electrical systems. Safety‑sensitive role subject to a pre‑employment drug test.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $92000.00/yr.
