Position SummaryThe Facilities Technician will successfully complete preventive maintenance, work orders, and minor renovations to include tasks in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, and other duties as assigned. Will be capable of understanding the diagnostic testing and analysis of the systems referenced above and comfortable with making assigned repairs necessary for normal operations.

Required Qualifications- Education:
Relevant coursework/specialized training or equivalent; formal training in facilities management or related field or completion of an approved trade program in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, lighting, temperature controls, electrical or related trade. (Will consider four years related education/experience combined) - Experience:
3 years in any of the following technical trades: HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, temperature controls, or related trade. (Will consider four years related education/experience combined) - License:
Valid Driver’s License. - Additional
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Successfully complete required and desired training courses.
- Ability to perform diagnostic testing and analysis of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, and other duties as assigned.
- Successfully complete safety training courses and adhere to safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate with campus customers and technicians.
- Ability to learn and share existing and new skill sets and knowledge.
- Ability to effectively identify and respond to complex issues and problems.
- Knowledge and application of city, state and federal codes and regulations.
- Education:
Formal training in facilities management or related field or completion of an approved trade program (HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, lighting, temperature controls, electrical, or related trade). - Experience:
HVAC or Energy Management systems operation. Maintenance experience in health care, research, or education areas. - License: CFC Universal, Journeyman Electrical, Journeyman Plumber, or certification of Energy Management System.
- Computer Applications:
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
