Summary of PositionThis position involves the installation of conduit and wiring of devices and controllers for Building Automation Systems. The technician must be capable of reading and interpreting MEP plans & specifications, and reading and interpreting BAS Submittal Drawings. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a company vehicle.
The candidate will work without supervision on multiple projects, maintain accurate inventory counts on the job site, support apprentices with electrical conduit and Building Automation material installation, troubleshoot system issues, perform point-to-point checkout, complete thorough project documentation, and identify change order opportunities. A Journeyman's License in Nebraska and 4+ years of experience are required.
Responsibilities and Duties- Proactively work in a safe and efficient manner in the context of performing the functions of your position
- Ensure that customer satisfaction is always 100%
- Interact professionally with customers and contractors as required
- Coordinate and communicate with project managers and team leads to meet the needs of all project requirements
- Assist teammates as needed
- Installation of control wiring, control components, EMT conduit, reading and understanding electrical diagrams, working from ladders
- Reading MEP plans and other construction documents
- Provide status reports of work related to any project involvement
- Troubleshooting abilities
- Possess or be willing to obtain OSHA Safety Certificate
- GED or high school diploma with at least one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Clean criminal history
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle
- Documented experience/training on various systems and controls
- Ability to work overtime, varied shift hours and occasional travel as needed
- Effectively able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Strong computer skills are preferred for Level 3, not a necessity for Level 1-2
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, contractors, supervisors, and team members
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, kneel, twist, stand, and climb stairs and ladders
- Handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functions
Full‑time
Pay$25.00 – $40.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Schedule- 40‑hour work week
- Monday to Thursday (typical)
