Position OverviewHVAC Journeyman Data Center Chiller Technician – You will provide installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC and data center chillers, working independently or as part of a team to support high‑performance customer environments.
Responsibilities- Participate in startup and commissioning of new units.
- Perform diagnostic tests, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions, and execute regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units.
- Review and interpret regulatory requirements and technical documents, including blueprints and diagrams.
- Build strong customer relationships and ensure timely escalation of issues for resolution.
- Adhere to safety regulations, licensing requirements, and complete required safety training.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 5 years of HVAC industry experience.
- Minimum 3 months with centrifugal chillers.
- Strong physical ability to lift 50lb and work on rooftops, ladders, and confined spaces.
- OSHA
30 certification is valued. - Experience with Carrier, Trane, and Diken centrifugal chillers (air‑cooled and water‑cooled).
- Basic understanding of building automation controls (BOMAC) and experience in data centers.
- Familiarity with steam turbines and HVAC controls such as Service Max.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of 19XR, 30CF, CDU chillers, air‑side systems (constant volume, VAV) and water‑side systems (hot water, chilled water, condenser water).
- Company‑provided vehicle with gas card.

- Paid travel time after the first hour and on‑call schedule with rotations every 7‑8 weeks to support work‑life balance.
- Per‑diem and lodging for on‑site assignments.
The hourly rate for this position is between $38.00 and $76.00, depending on skills, education, experience and qualifications.
