Compensation

Hourly base pay $26.73-$40.10, varying by location and candidate qualifications. Eligible for additional compensation such as commission and incentive programs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, air‑conditioning, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road‑test vehicles to verify correct operation.
  • Identify problems, assess information validity, use sound judgment to evaluate alternatives.
  • Manage parts inventory and reconcile equipment on company‑issued service truck.
  • Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post‑trip inspections.
  • Engage with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and meet expectations.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
  • Document work according to company standards; upload photos, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders via the TRAIT iOS app.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
  • Work independently and manage daily schedule.
  • Maintain high productivity, meeting standard repair times.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with management and support teams to obtain approvals, retrieve purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and at least three years of related experience (or equivalent degree/certification and five years of experience).
  • Provide a set of hand tools required for job duties.
  • Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical; a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining is acceptable.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence; ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship; no OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship.
Required Certifications
  • ASE T8 (PMI)
  • Preferred: ASE T3 (Drivetrain), ASE T4 (Brakes), ASE T5 (Suspension), ASE T6 (Electrical & Electronic Systems), ASE T7 (HVAC), ASE 608/609
