We have an immediate opening for a Network Fiber Technician - Outside Plant in Omaha, NE. As a Network Fiber Technician you will be responsible for terminating, splicing, bonding/grounding, documenting, and testing all fiber optic cables and related equipment to maximize operating efficiency. The role involves outdoor responsibilities and exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

• Perform all setup, testing and maintenance required for customer premise equipment (CPE) installation of POTS, DSL and networking services
• Install and maintain CPE local area networks (LAN) and WiFi networks
• Install and maintain network interface devices (NID) and optical network terminals (ONT)
• Perform troubleshooting from the main distribution frame (MDF) to the demarcation point, including CPE
• Respond to trouble tickets within acceptable company time‑frame standards
• Install outside plant (OSP) facilities according to engineered work orders or service orders
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and major repairs to distribution systems
• Perform cable and fiber testing and splicing
• Locate fiber optic cabling
• Record and report all changes immediately
• Complete inventory replenishment requests as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Available to travel for training as needed
• Available to work overtime and on‑call rotation duties after regular business hours as required

• High school diploma or GED
• One to two years of experience in the telecommunications industry or related field
• Some trade‑school training is desired
• Ability to be professional with customers and fellow associates
• Meet key performance metrics
• Physical ability to work in various conditions, including adverse weather, kneeling or standing for long periods, climbing ladders up to 25 feet, and lifting loads up to 75 pounds
• Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized equipment with training
• Operate and maintain company vehicle or equipment safely, including DOT‑certified bucket truck and trailer
• Willingness to work as a team and independently
• Availability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed
