Elliott Equipment Company designs and manufactures truck‑mounted aerial work platforms, boom truck cranes, and digger derricks that help crews work safer and more efficiently across utility, sign & lighting, construction, and governmental markets.
BOOM ASSEMBLY MECHANIC 3rd SHIFTPay Range: $20-26 per hour based on experience
Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday – Thursday 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM, OT scheduled as needed
Hiring Bonus: $2,000
Differential: $2/hour
- Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld symbols
- Correctly installs inner sections, reels, accessories and wear pads on each boom
- Installs hoses, winches, and cables
- Conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Builds and/or modifies equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirements
- Safety and Housekeeping
- Repairs and/or modifies existing and new products accordance with established specifications and procedures
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Requires good attendance and punctuality
- Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
- Good math and measurement skills
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Intermediate computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner
- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Previous mechanical experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs frequently throughout the day, depending on work related circumstances.
- Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level and be able to lift from lying position on back overhead. Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another.
- This position includes the following physical demands:
- Extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools as mentioned before.
- Seizing, holding, rasping, turning, pulling, or otherwise working with hands and arms.
- Using arms in such a way as pulling of tools, wrenches, parts, and equipment to complete the job.
- Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb up and down trucks, steps, and ladders safety.
