Performs hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting/assessment, and repair work on diesel engines, water transfer pumps and lead the shop.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversaw daily shop operations and supervised direct reports.
  • Operated forklifts and other equipment as required.
  • Pulled parts and equipment from inventory for shipping and loading based on work orders.
  • Ordered and maintained shop supplies, including oil, lubricants, fluids, and other consumables.
  • Managed inventory control for incoming and outgoing parts and equipment.
  • Performed routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspections.
  • Dismantled, repaired, and reassembled pumps using hoists, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Diagnosed and troubleshot mechanical and electrical issues on pumps and related equipment.
  • Overhauled, rebuilt, and tested pumps and machinery to restore operating efficiency.
  • Inspected components for wear or damage, replacing seals, bearings, and other worn parts as needed.
  • Conducted performance testing after repairs to verify compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintained accurate service records, including labor hours, parts usage, and repair documentation.
  • Maintained a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Communicated effectively with customers and team members, providing clear technical information and service updates.
  • Performed additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in water transfer pump and diesel engine repair, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Strong ability to diagnose, service, repair, and maintain industrial equipment independently.
  • Experience with pump overhauls, seal replacement, and complete unit rebuilds.
  • Skilled in reading technical documentation, taking precise measurements, and following industry standards.
  • Strong inventory management and shop organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Professional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated to maintaining high safety, quality, and performance standards.
