The HVAC Journeyman Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in Omaha, NE. This role is responsible for installing residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local codes. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing job plans, setting and connecting equipment, running and connecting ductwork and refrigerant lines, performing start-ups, and verifying proper system operation.
The installer will also perform basic maintenance and repair work when needed, communicate clearly with customers and team members, maintain a clean and safe work area, and complete required documentation for each job. This role works closely with other technicians and office staff to support excellent customer service and timely project completion.
- Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction, including clear communication, professional conduct, and respect for client property.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting HVAC systems and identifying issues related to performance, safety, and comfort.
- Knowledge of Maintenance & Repair practices for HVAC equipment, including safe handling of tools and materials.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance tasks to ensure reliable operation and extend equipment life.
- Current EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants in compliance with regulations.
- Prior HVAC installation experience at journeyman level, with familiarity with local mechanical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various indoor and outdoor environments, and use ladders and hand/power tools safely.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliability in showing up on time for scheduled work.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC trade program or apprenticeship is preferred.
