As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting dry van and refrigerated trailers to ensure their safe and reliable operation. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues, perform routine preventative maintenance, and complete necessary repairs.

- Perform routine preventative maintenance and complete necessary repairs.
- Repair and maintain brake systems, suspension components, doors, floors, lighting, and troubleshoot refrigerated trailer units.
- Conduct and support DOT and roadworthiness inspections.
- Document all inspections, maintenance, and repairs accurately in the maintenance management system.
- Coordinate with the parts department to identify and obtain required materials.
- Follow established repair procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with shop team members to prioritize work and minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Respond to urgent repair needs in a fast-paced shop setting.
- Experience with power tools, hand tools, and brake systems.
- Proficiency in trailer repair and electrical systems.
- Previous experience working on dry van and/or refrigerated trailers preferred.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and inspection processes.
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations related to trailer safety and compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
- Comfortable using computers and maintenance tracking systems to document work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Effective time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a shop team.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices and use of proper PPE.
Skills & Qualifications
- CDL or ability to obtain one preferred but not required.

This position is based in a maintenance shop and yard environment supporting trailer repair and service operations. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and moving equipment. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hand and power tools. Trailer Technicians work in a fast‑paced setting where adherence to safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment are essential.
The position involves collaboration with other technicians, parts personnel, and shop leadership while also requiring the ability to work independently. Scheduled work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, with rotating Saturdays, and may vary based on operational needs and equipment demands.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
