Job Summary
Bianco Electric is seeking a dependable and motivated Fire Alarm Installer to install, modify, and assist with testing fire alarm systems on commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure systems are installed according to plans, code, and manufacturer specifications.
Responsibilities- Install fire alarm devices, control panels, conduit, cable, and associated equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fire alarm drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Pull, terminate, and label fire alarm wiring.
- Install conduit using EMT, PVC, and other approved raceway systems.
- Mount and wire smoke detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, annunciators, modules, and related devices.
- Assist with programming, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot wiring and installation issues.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 72, and local codes.
- Coordinate work with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete required documentation, punch lists, and daily reports.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other construction equipment safely.
- Experience installing commercial fire alarm systems preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and NEC requirements is a plus.
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring methods and conduit installation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening if required.
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
- Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights when necessary.
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level I or higher).
- Nebraska Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician License.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience with manufacturers such as Notifier, Silent Knight, Siemens, Edwards, Honeywell, Potter, or Simplex.
