Summary
Responsible for performing a wide range of operations, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on distribution piping systems in tunnels, trenches, manholes and in customer premises. Required skills include the site-specific combination of pipe fitting, fabricating, excavation, and welding. Equipment maintenance knowledge should include all relevant distribution and customer-sited equipment.
Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas:- This position requires technical aptitude to be able to assist or perform maintenance/operational tasks as required.
- Perform tasks such as welding, fabricating, and troubleshooting steam system piping and related systems
- Performs locates of pipeline and associated underground facilities
- Repair pipeline, such as condensate traps, valves, and expansion joints
- Perform weekly/monthly meter readings at customer locations
- Ability to prioritize Safety over production
- Organize parts inventory for equipment at multiple sites and distribution system
- Ability to interact and communicate with contractors or customers of Cordia.
- Provide day-to-day communication to supervisor with respect to projects and condition of equipment
- Establishes the highest standards of business conduct, discipline, and ethical behavior to ensure continuing compliance with company policies and procedures
- Help locate and repair or minimize leaks in the distribution system
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with steam and chilled water
- Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, and motivational
- Ability to coordinate numerous activities under stress with poise, safely and successfully
- Possess an excellent working knowledge of operations and maintenance for efficient and effective production
- Welding Experience preferred, specifically Arc welding on pipe
Education:
- Minimum of one years' experience in plant operations, maintenance, or engineering
- Minimum one year's experience in district energy
- Valid state driver's license
- Completion of formal steam plant operations training, licensure, or certification program is preferred
- Welding Certification or formal welding training
- Normal plant environment and/or out of doors work environment. Includes working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas at various work locations
- Requires operation of a motor vehicle;
Valid State Driver's License - Regular extended and non-standard hours during critical issue resolution and to achieve project milestones
- Occasional travel to other Cordia locations and for training: 1-2 times or less annually
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, fall protection etc.)
- Requires working around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
- Requires operation of a personal computer
