Hiring Rate: $21.836/hour. Pay during training is $21.836/hour; after successful completion of training it increases to $25,607. Rates increase July 1 to $22.327/hour for training and $26.183/hour after training. If you are a current Child and Family Services Specialist Trainee, your current rate will remain.

Work Duties / Responsibilities- Assist young adults through their transition to self-sufficiency by identifying areas where they need support (housing, employment, education, transportation, parenting, health, and mental health) to promote stability as they move toward adulthood.
- Attend hearings and case reviews as required.
- Engage with input from a broad network of community resources and manage multiple, complex cases.
- Travel to meet with clients and stakeholders as needed.
Minimum Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, mental health care, education, criminal justice, or related field. Consideration will be given to applicants in the final semester of their Bachelor’s degree. Promotion to the Child and Family Services Specialist classification is contingent on degree requirements and required training.
Preferred Qualifications: Must be current or recent Child and Family Services Specialist. Experience in child welfare and/or case management; internships with human services/child welfare agencies; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; strong time management and reliability. Ability to travel. Two years of CFSS experience with ongoing case management preferred. Experience with young adult mental health is a plus.
After hire, must be certified in training that de-escalates and manages communication and physical interactions. Some days may require unconventional hours to meet client needs.
Other: Valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
