Probation District Placement Coordinator (Juvenile) – Open
Location:
1723 Harney St, Omaha, NEHiring Rate: $33.568 per hour Compensation:
Starting Salary: $69,820.79 annually
Work Schedule:
Core hours Monday–Friday daytime; occasional on‑call, evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
- Supervise intake staff, prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff training, and making hiring, termination and disciplinary decisions.
- Conduct analysis and research to identify and develop interventions, best practices, and services at the district level.
- Distribute cases, coordinate court appearances, and manage information to monitor workload.
- Consult with probation officers and use risk assessment instruments and case staffing to match juveniles with appropriate alternatives to detention based on needs and behaviors.
- Coordinate with the Juvenile Justice Treatment Specialist/designee to identify, obtain, and resolve issues related to juvenile services to enhance the use of detention alternatives.
- Maintain documentation to support compliance with federal, state, and local laws; collect and monitor data outcomes; prepare reports; and oversee program evaluation.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned by management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of related program management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred Experience: Working with youth or families (tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, etc.); experience with Probation, DHHS, NDCS, or related systems.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, applicable federal and state laws, case management practices, risk assessment and intake options, juvenile justice issues, and legal proceeding regulations.
- Proficiency with computers and applicable software applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and coordination skills.
Sedentary work; occasional light lifting up to 10 pounds. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
