Family Support and Visitation Specialist

Family Support and Visitation Specialist engages in coaching, role‑modeling, and teaching nurturing parenting practices during family visitations, and provides face‑to‑face assistance, coaching, teaching, and role‑modeling in home and community settings to prepare families for reunification.

Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, any day including evenings and weekends.

Work Structure: Hybrid with on‑site field responsibilities and remote coordination; travel locally as needed.

Locations: Must be commutable to either 1941 S 42

Nd St, Suite 328, Omaha, NE (Primary Office) or 230 East 22 Street, Suite 4, Fremont, NE 68025. Nebraska residents may telecommute for some duties.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
  • Complete required training assigned by supervisor
  • Complete reporting requirements, including documentation of each service, travel logs, and monthly reports to ensure timely billing
  • Maintain a caseload of clients as agreed with supervisor
  • Provide written and/or oral communication with referral sources on a consistent basis
  • Monitor caseload authorizations and coordinate with case manager for updates
  • Contact assigned client within 24 hours of supervisor assignment
  • Schedule sessions to meet the needs of the family/client
  • Complete documentation within 24 hours of service
  • Supervise parental and sibling interactions
  • Provide education and support to families involved in justice or court systems, helping navigate the health care system for physical and behavioral health services
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and reunification planning with justice facilities, providing information to assist with safe transitions of care
  • Provide resources to families
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Development, or related field
  • 3+ months of experience working with families and individuals with diverse needs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends up to 40 hours per week, based on client needs
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time (60‑70 miles one way) between Iowa and the Omaha or Fremont, Nebraska office locations
  • Access to reliable transportation and a current, non‑restricted valid state driver’s license with required insurance
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in the Human Services field
  • 6+ months of experience working with families involved in the justice or child welfare systems
  • 6+ months of experience providing direct services in home or field‑based environments
  • Experience in social services, child welfare, or family support
  • Knowledge of the needs of families involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice system
