An organized and client-centered Intake Specialist and Career Navigator with a strong background in assessing client needs, coordinating services, and guiding individuals toward sustainable employment pathways. Adept at conducting comprehensive intakes, developing individualized career plans, and connecting clients with community resources, training programs, and supportive services. Known for building trust, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting clients through every stage of their career development journey.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, families, and referral sources, providing clear information about services, processes, and next steps.
  • Conduct intake interviews to gather demographic information, assess eligibility, and identify service needs.
  • Review and verify client documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required forms and consents are collected.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic records, including data entry, case notes, service documentation, and participant progress, in compliance with organizational, confidentiality, and CARF standards.
  • Monitor client files and follow up on outstanding documentation to ensure timely completion of intake and enrollment requirements.
  • Develop and maintain individualized development plans (IDPs) aligned with participants' goals, skills, and needs.
  • Administer assessments to evaluate employment readiness, education level, and skill gaps.
  • Meet with participants regularly (at least twice per month) to track progress, provide guidance, and adjust goals as needed.
  • Provide employment support, including job search assistance, training referrals, and connection to internal and external resources.
  • Communicate participant progress and updates with referring agencies, employers, and internal team members.
  • Collaborate with program staff to coordinate services, support enrollment goals, and identify work-based learning opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stay informed on available resources.
  • Facilitate or support workshops, hiring events, and program activities across the service area.
  • Participate in rotating front desk coverage as needed to support daily operations.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and performance expectations, including attendance standards.
  • Engage in ongoing training, team meetings, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Promote a safe, healthy, and positive environment for participants, staff, and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in job search assistance, job training, career coaching, or case management required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a wide range of employers strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Goodwill's service area required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy standards.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including case management software, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Cultural competency and the ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing barriers to employment.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and motivational interviewing techniques preferred.
Physical Demands

Sedentary Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Work Environment

Limited General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
