As a Manager, Software Engineering (Temporary), you will:

• Oversee the design and evolution of the infrastructure
• Manage the software development team
• Translate product roadmaps into scalable software solutions
• Design and adhere to software development processes and best practices

Temporary employees may be appointed for a period of up to two years. Those appointed for more than six months are eligible for benefits from the beginning of the appointment, provided the position is half-time (.50 FTE) or greater. Those appointed for six months or less are not eligible for benefits.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related degree
• 5+ years of experience managing a software development team of 5 or more people using modern software development management processes (e.g., Agile dev)
• 5+ years of experience working with Jira, Git Lab, or similar applications
• 5+ years of experience working with a product management team to facilitate the translation of product requirements into engineering specifications and sprint tasks
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills
• Desire to work on a highly complex infrastructure that requires tight integration and communication with the computational, mathematical, and biophysical scientists
• Experience in diverse technologies and technical challenges, in services development, systems engineering, and distributed PaaS/SaaS infrastructure
