The Robotics Technician will design, program, troubleshoot and repair robotic systems. The Robotics Technician will also assemble, install, troubleshoot, and commission automated vision systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Programming of new robotic and automation systems.
- Support system installation, start-up, debug, commissioning and extended service at vendor client sites.
- Creates training and system documentation.
- Leads training sessions to educate clients on proper use and maintenance of systems.
- Required to be technical resource assistance to Sales, Project Management, and Client Services groups.
- Provide remote support to clients and team members to troubleshoot system process problems.
- Perform PM’s on FANUC Mechanical Units, Controllers, and peripheral items within work cell.
- Installation, testing and commissioning of vision, camera and scanning systems for high‑speed automation systems at vendor and/or client sites.
- Installation and base level commissioning of new automation systems.
- Accurately tracking and reporting all time spent and expenses incurred for work performed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of advanced FANUC programming to include: TP Language, FANUC Robo Guide Software, ASCII. (Entry level knowledge of Karel Language and FANUC Pallet Tool preferred)
- Basic knowledge of R‑30iA Mate, R‑30iB, R‑30iB Mate, R‑30iB Plus, and R‑30iB Mate Plus Controllers.
- Basic knowledge of PLC/Robot communication handshakes (DI/DO handshakes).
- Comfortable with 480
VAC 3‑Phase, 240
VAC Single Phase, 120
VAC, and Control Voltage. - Knowledge of Enet/IP I/O device connectivity and basic peripheral IP networking within the Robotic Work Cell.
- Comfortable with Mechanical Drawings and Electrical Schematics for system assembly and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and follow AutoCAD drawings for system layouts, assembly, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of/ability to learn Jira Ticketing System, Confluence Document Host, Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Work independently at specific tasks and as a member of a team on larger tasks.
- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
- Two‑year technical degree, or other equivalent educational experience, is preferred.
- Two years of related integration or manufacturing/production experience, is preferred.
- FANUC certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience with mechanical and electrical systems is a plus.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
- Ability to follow customer and vendor site PPE requirements.
