Overview
This is a full-time in-office position for applicants who will live and work in the Omaha, NE area.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, code, test, document, implement and maintain more complex application programs and interfaces.
- Act as a senior contributor or technical lead on small to mid-sized projects.
- Provide technical support; perform problem determination and investigation; implement upgrades for developed applications.
- Enhance existing systems; participate in client walkthroughs and technical design reviews; aid in systems development planning and monitoring; participate in design reviews and peer code walkthroughs.
- Provide client and application support.
- Perform software development and ensure conformance to performance optimization and interoperability standards and requirements.
- Work in adherence to secure development lifecycle practices and policies.
- Perform or assist in research and fact-finding to develop or modify application programs; work with vendors to review quality, adaptability and compatibility of their products.
- Act as the subject matter expert and consult with clients on the company’s IT strategy and business requirements.
- Collaborate with IT teams from applications and infrastructure to identify technology deficiencies and improvement opportunities in practices and procedures.
- Stay current with industry-standard techniques for software development and apply them to development, testing, integration and reporting processes where appropriate.
- Consult with application users in developing functional/technical specifications.
- Consult with application users, evaluate user requests for new or modified applications and interfaces to determine feasibility, cost and time required, and compatibility with current systems and capabilities.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) and React.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate frontend components with backend services.
- Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases; ability to write efficient queries.
- Implement responsive, reusable UI components using React, Type Script, HTML5, and CSS
3. - Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.
- Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems (MIS), computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
- Software Engineer 2 – A minimum of four years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering.
- Software Engineer 3 – A minimum of five years of experience in business software application design, development, integration and/or installation.
- Knowledge and experience in programming in client/server or web development environments.
- Experience in the industry or in an environment whose scope, size and complexity are comparable.
- Knowledge of open systems object design methodologies, architecture methodologies, security practices and integration techniques.
- Knowledge of relational database technology, structured analysis concepts, and software design patterns.
- Effective project management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Business analysis aptitude including communications and interpersonal skills enabling an understanding of clients’ needs.
- Knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions and major vendors.
- Experience integrating large, disconnected enterprise-class systems in a robust, fault-tolerant manner.
- Able to work in a zero-code-ownership environment with understanding of deployment topologies (secure, highly available systems).
- Effective oral and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Availability for periodic on-call responsibilities.
- Experience integrating Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solutions within environments with strong change and release management.
