Position:
Software Engineer – Lockheed Martin – USSTRATCOM
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer to support USSTRATCOM software teams that develop Planning and Command and Control (C2) capabilities within the Strategic Mission Planning and Execution System (SMPES) in a Dev Sec Ops environment.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile teams to design, develop, and implement new mission capabilities.
- Write secure, maintainable full‑stack Java and Web‑based code, adhering to architectural and usability best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and leading technical decisions.
- Engage with architecture, cyber, test, and product owner stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software.
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM field.
- U.S. citizen, required to hold or obtain a government security clearance (Top Secret).
- Experience developing web or Java code in an Agile / Dev Sec Ops team environment.
- Experience designing software solutions and leading code reviews.
- Familiarity with development tooling (VS Code, Git Lab, Gradle, Git, JUnit, Selenium, JIRA).
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior software engineers on an Agile team.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries (React/Angular/Vue), CSS, and HTML.
- Experience with Web Services (REST) or JSON/XML.
- Experience with Kafka.
- Java Spring and Spring Boot experience.
- Experience developing with microservice architectures.
- Experience with relational database access (SQL, JPA, Hibernate).
- Engineering experience with AFNWC SMPES, MPAS, NPES Systems.
Top Secret clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
