Summary of the Job
Lead software engineer on the Digital Document Management team, responsible for directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications. Ensure application changes are optimized for high availability, disaster recovery, security, encryption and enterprise standards.
About This RoleDirect and mentor the engineering team; collaborate with other technical leads and business units; serve as the key technical liaison for vendors; oversee vulnerability remediation, compliance efforts and penetration‑test resolutions; participate in Agile ceremonies, roadmap planning, CTM, architecture governance, and on‑call rotation for production support.
Responsibilities- Lead application design, code‑module design, and technology framework selection.
- Create and maintain application and network diagrams.
- Ensure solutions comply with best practices for application security, encryption, and data in flight.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, quality, security, complexity, maintainability and unit testing.
- Participate in initiative planning: design, estimation, breakdown of work, and dependency identification.
- Contribute to roadmap planning and execution for owned applications; align roadmaps with enterprise architecture.
- Collaborate with other technical leads to identify dependencies and coordinate vendor design, implementation, execution and ongoing support.
- Participate in development work and support resolution of production issues, creating preventive measures.
- Participate in data security assessments, audits and compliance reviews.
- Oversee resolution of vulnerabilities, compliance deficits and penetration‑test remediations.
- Work with change management for code release, roll‑out planning, alignment with business units, and post‑release testing.
- Understand cost efficiencies of systems and advocate for software and system upgrades and patches.
- Participate in the Architecture Guild, COP, and vendor/product evaluations or POCs.
- Analyze existing document management systems (File Net P8/CMOD) and develop a modernization strategy for legacy applications.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Struts, Spring Batch, Hibernate, and JPA.
- Experience with microservices design, development, and architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services (S3, SQS, SNS, Secrets Manager).
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, testing frameworks, deployment automation, and release management.
- Proficiency with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and version control tools (Git Lab, Git Hub).
- Experience deploying applications on IBM Web Sphere across Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC: unit testing, code review, continuous integration.
- Agile methodology experience.
- Experience designing scalable, enterprise‑wide applications in hybrid cloud and AWS environments.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams.
- Unrestricted work authorization and no need for future sponsorship.
- Experience with IBM File Net P8, IBM Data Cap, and IBM Content Manager on Demand (CMOD).
- Experience with React or another front‑end framework.
- Experience with employee collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Docu Sign, eGain).
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and willingness to learn.
Base pay range: $–$. Final compensation may vary based on experience, education, and skill level. The role may be onsite at the posted location.
