AI & Commercial Real Estate Intern

Haley Real Estate Group is looking to hire an undergraduate intern role at the intersection of AI and commercial real estate. This is a hands-on opportunity to build, test, and deploy AI agents that plug directly into real underwriting workflows-your work will be used in live deals.

We're a CRE investment firm analyzing transactions across the U.S., looking for someone studying finance, real estate, or a related field who's already experimenting with AI tools and wants to put them into action.

This position is part-time during the school year, and has the potential to be full-time during the summer.
Position Purpose

The AI & Commercial Real Estate Intern will support underwriting and deal analysis while helping integrate AI tools into core investment workflows. You'll build, test, and refine AI agents, experiment with automation, and improve the efficiency and scalability of underwriting processes. The role also includes conducting market, technology, and asset-level research to generate data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate is already experimenting with AI tools or automation, enjoys solving problems, and wants to apply those skills to real-world investing. A background in finance, real estate, computer science, or a related field is a plus, along with a strong interest in building and improving systems.

In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in tech-enabled CRE investing and exposure to AI applications in real estate and finance. You'll work on real projects that support active deals and receive mentorship from a team at the intersection of fintech and real estate-all within a flexible work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support commercial real estate underwriting and deal analysis
• Apply AI tools, agents, and workflow automation to CRE processes
• Test software and AI capabilities
• Assist in creating and refining AI agents
• Help build data-driven insights and investment intelligence
• Conduct market research, technology research, and asset-level analysis
• Improve efficiency and scalability of underwriting workflows
• Collaborate on tech-enabled real estate initiatives with direct product impact

Job Specifications

• Basic knowledge of Python or SQL
• Experience with prompt engineering or building AI workflows
• Exposure to fintech or proptech products
• Currently enrolled undergraduate student in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a closely related field
• Top academic performer; candidates who have excelled in their class
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI tools in personal or professional projects
• Exposure to real estate underwriting or financial modeling
• Familiarity with AI tools, data platforms, or automation tools
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive problem-solver with intellectual curiosity
