Software Developer – Boys Town National Research Hospital
Boys Town and Boys Town National Research Hospital are changing the way America cares for children and families. We are looking for a Software Developer to code, test, and develop applications and integrations that support the organization’s requirements.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. We do not offer sponsorship for employment visa status.
Responsibilities- Develop, document, and test software that meets system specifications and user requirements.
- Develop new software functions, integrations, or modules using one of the organization’s application platforms.
- Develop new software applications or modules using one of the organization’s standard programming languages.
- Maintain and update existing software applications.
- Collaborate with senior staff regarding software additions or revisions.
- Adhere to project timelines and scope.
- Test application programs thoroughly by performing unit testing.
- Maintain coding standards and naming conventions.
- Develop supporting materials for developed software, including program documentation and operational instructions.
- Knowledge of software development procedures and best practices.
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner.
- Ability to translate complex data into understandable conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi‑task while maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products and relational databases; ability to read and write SQL statements.
- Basic development skills in .NET, Java, XML/JSON, XSLT, and Cloud Computing.
- Accreditation in Computer Science or a related field (or on track to graduate within 90 days of hire) OR minimum of 2 years of programming and development experience.
- Technical certifications preferred.
Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment. The job involves minimum exposure to physical risks and requires use of office equipment such as a computer, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set‑up.
