Software Engineer II - Air Traffic Solutions; Onsite

Our Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions – Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) is seeking experienced Software Engineers to develop and support air traffic management systems worldwide. Candidates will work on safety‑of‑life control systems for multinational customers, improving skills across the software development life‑cycle.

• Develop and maintain software packaged into ATMS products.
• Maintain documentation and work instructions required by ATS‑SED's high‑maturity engineering standards.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, story pointing).
• Collaborate with an integrated engineering team and maintain frequent multi‑level communication with engineering, program management, and external stakeholders.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience developing, integrating, testing, and validating software components in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Proficiency with Java or C/C++ across the full software development life‑cycle.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• U.S. citizenship (as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract).

• Experience with asynchronous messaging frameworks.
• Agile methodology experience and familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket).
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Ada.
• Experience in software testing or debugging source code.

Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD (based on experience, location, and role responsibilities).
