Summary of the Job:

We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join our ODS development team. This role will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services within a microservice-based platform deployed on AWS. The ideal candidate has solid hands-on Java and Spring Framework experience and is eager to grow their skills in cloud-native, distributed systems development.

About This Role:

Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and the Spring Framework Collaborate Product Owner and QA to deliver high-quality features

Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following team standards and best practices

Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retros)
Troubleshoot and resolve defects and production issues (on call support is required for this role)
Contribute to technical documentation

Work with relational databases to design and optimize queries and schemas

Support the evolution of services within a microservice architecture, with opportunities to grow AWS and cloud deployment skills

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or related field, or equivalent practical experience3–5 years of professional experience developing applications in Java Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (version 3 or
4)
Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles

Experience building and consuming RESTful APIsExperience working with relational databases (SQL, schema design, query writing)
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Experience with PostgreSQL specifically

Experience with microservices architecture and design patterns

Experience deploying or working with applications on AWS (e.g., EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS)
Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Exposure to newer Spring Boot / Spring 5+ concepts

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $79,363.00-$This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
