Woodmen Life is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our team! Ready to make an impact this summer? In this role, you will assist with a variety of administrative functions by providing support that will help the Business Technology division meet daily objectives. Accomplished through exposure to the planning, execution and evaluation stages of various work projects and initiatives, to gain workplace experience in the insurance industry.

• Gain broad exposure to the Woodmen Life organization by meeting weekly with the Internship Cohort, collectively with Executive Leadership, and one-on-one with leaders at the division level.
• Summarize and present capstone presentation of the internship experience including project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
• Serve as a key member of the Agile intern team through the Developer role.
• Collaborate with development teams to build and maintain software solutions using Microsoft technologies, with a focus on Azure services and toolsets.
• Gain hands-on experience with Azure Dev Ops, including managing pipelines and work items to support continuous integration and delivery workflows.
• Apply strategic thinking and an innovative mindset to contribute to the design and development of scalable, efficient, and maintainable software systems.
• Write code, debug, and test applications using development languages such as Java, C#,.NET, and Python.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to deliver high-quality software in a collaborative environment.
• Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, including version control, documentation, and code reviews

We need someone who has:

• Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college with area of study in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or related fields
• Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA
• Ability to work 38.75 hours per week
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while working collaboratively.
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
• The ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.
