Local Delivery Driver - CDL A

Overview

PBNA $24.40 / hour. This position involves delivering products to stores on an established route or via dynamic dispatch, including convenience and gas stores, small supermarkets, drug stores, etc. Typical route includes 15-20 stops per day. Primary duties include driving the delivery vehicle, unloading, stocking store shelves, displays, vending equipment, and coolers, and setting up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners.

The role requires daily invoicing and cash/charge settlement and frequent interaction with store management.

This role is labor intensive, involving lifting and moving 20-45 lb cases repeatedly, reaching, squatting, and bending during deliveries and merchandising. Long work hours may occur during peak seasons and summer.

• Deliver products, serve customers, and execute all promotions to multiple stores each day
• Operate trucks requiring an appropriate CDL license, including basic vehicle maneuvers
• Service all scheduled customers by the end of the daily shift
• Merchandise and rotate all accounts to local standards (shelves, displays, stock rotation, cleaning, removing out-of-date products, etc.)
• Push and pull pallet jacks and hand trucks and breakdowns to move products to and from the truck
• Establish positive working relationships with primary contacts at each account
• Comply with operating procedures (scan-in/scan-out, follow designated route, etc.)
• Serve customers with effective communication and attentiveness to needs
• Follow DOT regulations
• Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance

• 21 years or older
• Pass the required drug test and physical capabilities test (if applicable)
• Valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
• Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test
• Follow DOT Regulations

Note:

In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.

• Operating trucks requiring a valid U.S. CDL license
• Delivering products directly to stores and working as part of an account team
• Merchandising products (shelves, displays, rotation, cleaning, restocking, etc.)
• Operating handheld computers (data entry, transactions, printing)
• Operating equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, breakdowns)
• Working in a warehouse environment (product storage, staging, forklifts)

Working away from a company location, the role may involve fieldwork, visiting customer locations, and interfacing with employees, vendors, customers, and the public. A conditional offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.
