Position Details
- Average pay $75,000 - $100,000+ annually with uncapped pay potential.
- 4- or 5-day work week, up to 2 nights out per week; per diem compensation approx. $145 per day.
- $5,000 sign‑on bonus (not available to individuals who have worked for a Performance Food Group owned company within the last six months).
Food and food service delivery drivers ensure that customers receive their products on time, in good condition, and build lasting relationships. Drivers operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, both local and over‑the‑road, covering delivery, unloading, and ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Responsibilities
- Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally.
- Perform safety checks and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company standards.
- Report all safety issues, repairs, and hazards.
- Follow DOT regulations, company safe driving guidelines, and policies.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Count check items and verify customer invoices.
- Complete all required freight paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined schedules.
- Unload products and transport items to designated storage areas.
- Perform damage control checks, scan orders, and notify supervisor per company policy.
- Verify delivery and obtain proper signatures from customers.
- Collect payment (cash or checks) when required and secure trailer doors.
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked and protected.
- Unload damaged goods, customer returns, and remove trash from trailers as required.
- Maintain daily hours of service records in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean.
- Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at shift end.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
- High school diploma, GED, or state‑approved equivalent.
- Valid CDL
A. - Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
- Ability to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight ranging from approximately 10–35 pounds up to 60–90 pounds.
