Starting pay $20/hr, Mon‑Fri 9am‑6pm.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for operating a company vehicle to deliver products to customers and performing warehouse activities, including parts pulling, staging, and loading/stocking of trucks.
Essential Duties- Receives labels from the supervisor for parts to be pulled for the assigned route.
- Pulls parts from the appropriate bins and delivers them to the staging area for loading.
- Operates a forklift or order selector to transport parts in and about the warehouse.
- Loads truck according to the delivery schedule and performs a final check‑off of parts loaded.
- Sorts and places parts and supplies on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
- Responds to customer counter sales immediately by receiving orders, pulling products and loading them into the customer vehicle.
- Verifies in‑stock position on product for inside sales staff.
- Drives a company box truck to deliver parts to customer locations.
- Physically loads truck at the branch and verifies the condition of the truck, manifest and other paperwork associated with deliveries to be made.
- Drives to the delivery destination and physically unloads truck and verifies parts unloaded.
- Picks up returned parts and collects customer payments as necessary.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Not responsible for supervising employees.
Basic Qualifications- 6+ months of related warehouse experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Must qualify for corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.
- Must meet Department of Transportation testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Forklift certification/experience and knowledge of RF scanners are helpful.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records. Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures. Decisions generally affect one’s own job or assigned functional area.
Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager. Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to drive a vehicle most of the time. Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods (up to 12 hours at a time); use hands to operate machinery. May need to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust. May occasionally wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. May need to work in cramped spaces that could require getting into awkward positions. May be exposed to extreme temperatures, extreme lighting, and high noise levels. Daily travel will be required by drivers making deliveries and extensive overnight travel may be required.
