Weekend Medical Courier Driver

Location: Omaha, NE

Pay: $17.00/hr (Part Time)

Shift

Schedule:

• Saturday: 12:00pm – 10:15pm
• Sunday: 10:45am – 5:00pm
• Additional $1.00 hourly increase for weekend shift ($18 hourly)

• Driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x‑rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company‑owned vehicle.
• Operating a hand‑held scanning device to track items accurately through the transportation cycle.
• Observing operating policies, procedures, and service schedules, and presenting a professional image at all times.
• Loading and unloading company vehicles with appropriate equipment.
• Conducting pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
• Performing duties across all routes assigned, with the flexibility to adjust to route changes as needed.
• Demonstrating safe, courteous driving behavior and driving a non‑commercial vehicle on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Working collaboratively with teammates and clients to build and nurture a Med Speed team culture.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• 19 years of age with an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Adherence to procedures and the ability to follow instructions closely.
• Efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screening.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
• Regularly lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
• Handling varying item weights and physical demands, including lifting items off storage racks.
• Comfortable walking long distances and standing for extended periods.
