Driver Licensing Examiner
Responsible for administering driver licensing examinations and determining applicant eligibility for driver's licenses, permits, and identification cards. The examiner verifies identity, citizenship, residency, and other required documentation; conducts automobile, motorcycle, and commercial driver license (CDL) testing; evaluates driving performance and compliance with state and federal requirements; processes licensing transactions; provides customer service and information to the public; maintains accurate records; and assists with office operations, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Minimum:
Experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or working with motor vehicle laws. - Preferred:
Experience providing customer service in a public-facing environment; experience handling cash transactions and maintaining accurate records; familiarity with state motor vehicle laws, licensing procedures, or regulatory requirements; experience reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness; proficiency with computer systems and data entry; experience working in a fast-paced office environment; bilingual communication skills; ability to remain calm and professional with diverse customers in challenging situations. - A clean driving record and experience operating a variety of motor vehicles.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Will complete agency-provided training, including Driver License Examiner certification, fraud detection training, and defensive driving coursework.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, work independently and collaboratively, and occasionally travel between testing locations.
