Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections according to DOT regulations;
Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet safety standards and take action as needed;
Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies;
Immediately report safety hazards;
Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; ensure freight is secured at all times;
Complete paperwork accurately and legibly; verify customer invoices and freight load counts;
Unload damaged goods and returns and complete end-of-shift procedures;
Maintain daily record-keeping and hours of service in compliance with DOT, state, and company policies
