Position Purpose

Food and food‑service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Drivers ensure customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition, serving as the company’s face and building lasting client relationships. Drivers are responsible for operating tractor‑trailer or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, unloading food and related products safely and in accordance with DOT regulations, and interacting professionally with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Perform safety checks, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of the tractor, truck and trailer per DOT regulations and company standards; report any safety issues or required repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines; promptly report safety hazards; ensure trailers are properly loaded and secured.
  • Count and verify items against customer invoices before loading.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Position tractor at loading dock; attach trailer as needed.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the allotted route schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and move items to the customer’s storage area.
  • Perform damage‑control checks, scan items, and inform supervisor of any discrepancies following company policy.
  • Verify delivery with the customer and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect payment (cash or checks) when required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure doors.
  • Ensure tractor, trailer and freight are locked and secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods, customer returns and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily hours‑of‑service log in accordance with federal, state and company requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the tractor, loading dock area and trailers.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Assist with other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma, GED, or state‑approved equivalent.
  • Valid CDL‑B license.
  • Muss be 21 years of age or older.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean motor‑vehicle report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT health card, or ability to obtain one.
  • Physical ability to hand‑lift and operate equipment such as two‑wheelers, lift gates or other devices to move or stack product cases weighing between 10–35 pounds and, when necessary, up to 60–90 pounds.
