Job Overview
The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire Event Attendants and Lead Event Attendants. Employees in these positions are responsible for a variety of tasks related to concessions and event operations. Scheduled hours vary for each event and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. These are considered Limited Term Employment positions. Work is reviewed by the Event/Recreation Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner and take concession orders.
- Assist in kitchen processes such as preparation, cooking, and serving products.
- Process orders on the cash register, return correct change, and follow City cash handling policies and procedures.
- Balance the cash drawer each shift or as directed following established cash handling policies.
- Prepare and provide concession supplies ordered by customers.
- Maintain cleanliness in the concession area and surrounding eating areas.
- Follow safe food handling procedures at all times.
- Assist with event set‑up and tear‑down, open skate, box office, and pro‑shop.
- Contribute to a cooperative working effort and perform other job‑related work as needed.
- Lead a crew to complete daily customer service tasks.

Minimum age 14.
Qualifications- Prior cash handling experience preferred.
- For Lead Event Attendants:
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. - Minimum age 14.
Wage range for these seasonal, limited‑term positions is $10.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, budget, and/or position. Flexible scheduling is available. There are no benefits associated with limited‑term positions.
