Position: Full-time Personal Care Paraprofessional - Onalaska High School

Overview

The School District of Onalaska is accepting applications for a full-time personal care/special education paraprofessional at Onalaska High School for the remainder of the 25-26 school year. Paraprofessionals in the School District of Onalaska are classified as one encompassing unit of employees and are an integral part of the school system's programs. Personal Care/Special education paraprofessionals will support students in general education and within special education programming as needed.

In addition to the special education paraprofessional job role and responsibilities, personal care paraprofessionals are typically assigned to one student at a time and 85% or more of the daily responsibilities would be in caring for a student's physical, safety and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support students in general education and within special education programming as needed.
  • Typically assigned to one student at a time with 85% or more of daily responsibilities focused on caring for a student’s physical, safety and behavioral needs.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years (48 credits) post high school education, or an associate degree preferred.
  • If two years post high school is not achieved, applicants must have passed Para Pro Assessment or designated Work Keys Assessments prior to employment.
  • The Work Keys Assessment is paid for by the district if selected for employment.
