Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, notifying donors, and providing center‑level environmental, health and safety support.
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor reactions per SOPs, including development of physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings requiring further medical or technical guidance.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified as an LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

US hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual wage will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
