We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in a retail grocery store environment, where you will play a crucial role in food preparation and guest service.

Job Description:What You’ll Do
- Provide Helpful Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care.
- Guest Assistance: Help guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone.
- Order Fulfillment: Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
- Customer Service: Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience.
- Quality Control: Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more.
- Food Safety: Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards.
- Efficiency: Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
- Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
- Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.

Good oral and written communication skills. - Effective Problem‑Solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members.
- Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers.
- Food Knowledge: Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Full range of upper body motion.
- Ability to work at a fast pace.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
The Deli Clerk is a full‑time position with a varied work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
