Role Overview
Software Engineer - TRACE at Trane Technologies, part of the Customer Driven Solutions (C.D.S.™) team. The role focuses on revamping a flagship proprietary software, exploring opportunities to leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence to enhance product capabilities.
Core Job Responsibilities- Design, create, and maintain logic for applications.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devise solutions to address and mitigate issues.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Develop routine tests and coordinate testing efforts.
- Develop Software Quality Assurance processes based on industry best‑practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, application engineers, and customer support.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and technologies to keep solutions cutting‑edge.
- Communicate with business users at all organizational levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or related IT field with at least 3 years of work experience preferred.
- Understanding of the software development process.
- Strong background in productivity and collaboration tools.
- Microsoft .NET Framework (C#) experience.
- Familiarity with SQL and No
SQL databases. - Web‑browser based development experience (Blazor, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XML/XSLT).
- Proficiency in both front‑end and back‑end development.
- Project management, time management, planning, organizational and analytical skills.
- Self‑motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Basic design knowledge, including UI/UX and prototype design.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of Test and Defect Management tools like ALM and Jira.
- Experience with Agile practices.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment is a plus.

No. The actual compensation depends on seniority, merit, location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
