DescriptionOneida Health is looking for a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide overnight coverage on the vent unit in our Rehabilitation and Extended Care facility. The ECF Registered Nurse assigned to the Vent Unit is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents requiring ventilator support. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (UM or Nursing Supervisor) and Physician, the RN coordinates individual resident care, oversees nursing activities performed by CNAs and Ward Clerks, and ensures adherence to prescribed care plans and treatment protocols.
* Overnight Shift Differential: $2.45

What You'll be Great At:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents as prescribed by physicians.
- Delegate, implement, and supervise staff in accordance with resident care plans, consulting with the RN (UM/Nursing Supervisor) as needed.
- Assist residents and families as required, emphasizing customer service.
- Schedule resident appointments and communicate appointment details to families or responsible parties.
- Collaborate with physicians on rounding, orders, and resident care needs.
- Update staff on changes or additions to resident care plans.
- Input orders into the computer system and notify the pharmacy as necessary.
- Review resident consultations and provide updates to physicians as required.
- Attend daily meetings as directed by Unit Manager/Supervisor.
- Participate in resident care plan development and consultations regarding changes in level of care.
- Delegate assignments, order medications and supplies, observe and chart vital signs, assist with wound care, prepare equipment, and assist with resident personal hygiene.
- Comply with policies and procedures related to controlled substances, narcotic counts, and documentation.
- Use nursing judgment to evaluate changes in resident situations and report to RN UM or supervisor when appropriate.
- Record incidents, errors, or accidents promptly.
- Promptly notify physicians as needed.
- Assist with tasks such as assisting in dining rooms, bathing, and incontinence care.
- Notify appropriate staff of building emergencies or concerns.
- Report or ensure reports are made regarding suspected abuse, neglect, mistreatment, or exploitation of residents.

Your Essential
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate of Nursing (Required)
- License and certification:
- New York RN (Required)
- BLS (Required)
- Experience:
- Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Extended Care Facility: 1 year (Preferred)
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move residents as needed.
- Manual dexterity for performing nursing tasks.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Other physical requirements as necessary for patient care and facility maintenance.
