Encompass Health seeks a Senior Manager, Compliance to lead regulatory and ethical compliance across our inpatient rehabilitation operations. This role designs and oversees the local compliance program, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and healthcare regulations, including CMS, HIPAA, and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, audits, and investigations; updating policies and controls; and preparing regulatory reports. You will collaborate with clinical, legal, and operational leaders, deliver staff training, and promote a culture of integrity that supports safe, patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of the facility's compliance program to meet federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, Joint Commission) and update policies, procedures, and controls accordingly.
  • Plan and conduct compliance risk assessments, audits, and reviews; report findings and drive corrective action plans.
  • Investigate reported compliance concerns, document outcomes, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training and education for clinical and non-clinical staff and leadership.
  • Collaborate with legal, clinical, quality, and operations leaders to integrate compliance into daily practice and decision-making.
  • Prepare and present compliance metrics, dashboards, and reports to senior leadership and governing bodies.
  • Support survey readiness and respond to external audits, inspections, and inquiries from regulators.
  • Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and transparency, encouraging staff to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • Continuously improve compliance processes using data, feedback, and best practices in healthcare compliance.
