Job Description Title - School Health Coordinator

- To provide direction, planning, monitoring, and oversight of healthcare services for the District.
- To collaborate with the superintendent and district administrators to support implementation of healthcare services for students.
- To coordinate healthcare information management and ensure compliance with applicable Alabama Board of Nursing requirements.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Ability to manage, supervise, and evaluate personnel.
- Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate all functions of school and district nursing programs.
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills in group settings.
- Knowledge of current general medical and pediatric nursing practices.
- Ability to use technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information related to health services.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community and state healthcare services and agencies.
- Effective interpersonal skills with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to relate complex medical and technical concepts.
- Strong leadership, organizational and project management skills.
- Physical strength, stamina, agility, and acuity to perform job responsibilities and essential functions.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work after hours, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
- Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
- Such alternative qualifications to those listed as the Board may require.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions240-days
Daily work schedule will be determined by the Assistant Superintendent / Superintendent for the necessary operations of the System.
SalaryApproved salary schedule for the position is located on the Human Resources webpage. Annual salary is based on a 40-hour week with daily full-time equivalent of 37.5 standard work hours.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated by the administration in accordance with the support personnel evaluation system and board policy.
