RN - Registered Nurse

Schedule:

PRN, Monday-Friday, Dayshift (no nights, weekends, or holidays)

No set hours; on an as‑needed basis.

Work Location:

UAB St. Vincent's Blount.

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure.
• Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of the patient before, during, and after the procedure.
• Directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at the time of hire required; one year of RN experience required.
