Education (Adjunct Pool) - Student Teaching Supervisors
Hartwick College is accepting applications on a continuing basis for qualified instructors to serve as student teaching supervisors in the Education Department. Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in Education or a closely related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of successful teaching and/or school-based leadership experience. Student teaching supervisors are responsible for supporting and evaluating teacher candidates during field placements through regular school visits, observation, and feedback.
Responsibilities include conducting six formal teaching observations per student teacher each semester, maintaining communication with cooperating teachers and college faculty, and submitting required evaluation documentation in a timely manner. This position requires availability during regular public-school hours, typically Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. All supervision responsibilities are conducted face-to-face in local school settings; therefore, remote applications will not be considered.
Student teaching supervisors are responsible for their own transportation to assigned field placements. This adjunct pool will be used on an as-needed basis as opportunities arise. Applications will remain active for up to two years. Compensation: $900 per student teacher supervised + mileage (calculated at the current year federal rate).
