Financial Wellness & Scholarship Coordinator

The Financial Wellness & Scholarship Coordinator supports SUNY Oneonta's commitment to access, affordability, and student success by coordinating financial aid outreach, delivering financial wellness education, and administering institutional and foundation scholarship programs. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, this position serves as a key resource for students and families navigating the financial aspects of higher education.

The position combines student-facing financial aid counseling, financial wellness education, scholarship administration, and outreach efforts to support student access, affordability, persistence, and success.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience or two years of paraprofessional experience working with students, families, or educational programs in a higher education, nonprofit, or customer-service environment.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license by the time of appointment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations (Title IV) and New York State student aid programs, including TAP and the Excelsior Scholarship.
• One to three years of experience in financial aid administration, scholarship administration, or financial aid program operations.
• Experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating scholarship programs, Title IV aid programs, or related student support initiatives.
• Experience using Ellucian Banner or a comparable student information system.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a goal-oriented environment.
• Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
