Position: School-Based Social Worker - Oneonta, New York
Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' personal and academic well-being in a collaborative educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity near the Oneonta, NY area is an ideal fit for an experienced and compassionate social worker seeking to play a vital role within a dedicated school community. Work a balanced schedule of 8:00am-4:00pm on Mondays and 8:00am-3:15pm Tuesday through Friday.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide individual and small-group counseling sessions, aligned with students' IEPs, 504 Plans, and targeted Tier 2 or 3 supports as determined by the MTSS Committee
  • Collaborate with families to help students access critical community-based mental health and social services resources
  • Partner closely with educators and counseling staff to address social-emotional challenges and participate in responding to crisis situations, including student dysregulation or emotional distress
  • Model a trauma-informed approach, contributing to a respectful, supportive school climate
Qualifications and required experience include:
  • Current and valid New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or in active pursuit of LCSW status (supervision provided if in process)
  • Alternatively, a New York State Certified School Social Worker (C-SSW) credential is acceptable
  • Up-to-date Mandated Reporter training per New York State regulations
  • Successful NYSED fingerprinting and background clearance
  • Documentation showing completion of Sexual Harassment Prevention training in accordance with NYSED guidelines
