Senior Accountant

Overview

Senior Accountant to join our team, supporting our client in Norfolk, VA. This position requires a mix of on-site presence at Naval Station Norfolk and remote work, currently structured as two days on-site and three days remote. Due to the nature of the role, only U.S. Citizens may be considered.

• Apply Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) standards:
• • Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Concepts (SFFAC)
• • Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS)
• Apply Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Adhere to the Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation (DoD FMR)
• Perform advanced accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations
• Analyze financial data and prepare accurate financial reports
• Support the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures
• Provide strong written and verbal communication to effectively convey financial information to stakeholders
• Utilize Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for financial analysis and reporting

• Experience:
  
  A minimum of seven (7) years of accounting experience
• Proven understanding and practical application of FASAB, FASB GAAP, and DoD FMR
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Required)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (Required)

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Required)
• CDFM, CGFM, CIA, and/or CISA (Preferred)
