Tax Accountant – Small CPA Firm

This role is 100% Remote with a Midwest presence. Base salary $90K-$130K + annual bonus, 401K match, and benefits. Full-Time.

We are partnered with a small, progressive CPA firm that works closely with local small businesses and offers a laid-back, collaborative environment. We pride ourselves on fostering a great work/life balance, and we provide a flexible schedule with 40-hour workweeks year-round, along with fully paid overtime. As part of our team, you’ll work directly with the owner, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to a variety of tax and accounting engagements.

• Handle tax engagements for local small businesses, including tax planning, preparation, and filing.
• Collaborate with the owner to manage tax projects and provide high-quality service to clients.
• Perform accounting work using Quick Books and assist with monthly and year-end closing.
• Assist clients with various accounting needs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain clear communication with clients to resolve issues and answer tax-related questions.

• CPA or EA designation preferred, not required.
• 4+ years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Proficiency with Quick Books and tax preparation software.
