Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Parsippany, New Jersey. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting functions. The role offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence two days a week and remote work three days a week.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze general ledger account balances to ensure accuracy and provide financial insights.

- Prepare and reconcile financial reports to support decision-making processes.

- Assist with the development and documentation of accounting procedures and recommend improvements.

- Allocate expenses for services and ensure proper cost distribution.

- Maintain and reconcile specific general ledger accounts to ensure compliance and accuracy.

- Apply accounting principles and reporting standards to financial transactions.

- Record financial data in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

- Create detailed financial reports for analysis of account statuses and trends.

- Participate in accounting-related projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements - Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

- Familiarity with accounting compliance laws and regulations.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.

- Experience with manual or automated accounting systems.

- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

- 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
