Our company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual for a Corporate Cost Accountant role. The company maintains significant inventory in multiple manufacturing sites throughout North America. The core function of this role is to ensure the accuracy of product costs and inventory data as it pertains to cost and profitability by tapping into various information resources. A successful candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft excel and other office applications.
This position relies on using the SAP system for most tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyze standard costs of products and services and calculate activity rates at full cost absorption.
- Collaborate with plants to review BOM’s/Routings used to calculate standard costs.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to establish accurate cost standards to support pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with plant managers to manage inventory and co-ordinate annual plant physical inventories.
- Reconciles perpetual inventory and inventory reserves to general ledger and journal entries.
- Analyzes purchase price and other manufacturing variances throughout the month.
- Assist FP&A analysts with month end analysis of COGS at standard, materials, and absorption.
- Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans by providing cost-related insights and projections.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.
- Lead or participate in special projects, ad-hoc analysis, or system implementations related to cost accounting, inventory management, or process optimization.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 3+ years of experience with cost accounting of manufactured parts.
- 1+ years of SAP experience is required.
- Manufacturing industry experience is required.
- Hybrid Work Schedule (Work from home Monday and Friday. In the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.)
