Property Accountant
Reports to: Senior Director of Property Accounting
Location: Fully remote within CST and EST time zones
Summary of Position:
Subject to the practices, policies, and standards within The Coral Company Team Member Handbook, the Property Accountant is responsible for the financial reporting needs of a portfolio of properties and projects, ensuring that all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting/risk management, team interaction & customer service functions are performed in an Accurate/Reviewed, & Timely manner. As well as be efficient and effective on a daily basis with a constant view for the future performance of the team.
As a critical member of The Coral Company team, the Property Accountant shares responsibility for the team’s productivity, accuracy, efficiency, strategic problem solving, and customer service. Performance is measured against the Company’s directive to “Only promise what you can deliver, and always deliver what you promise.”

Areas of Responsibility- Strategic partner with Property and Project Managers regarding financial planning, reporting, operating, and financial planning issues.
- Meet the standard for customer centric service to Coral internal and external clients.
- Accounting and financial reporting functions for all managed assets within the Property Accountant's portfolio.
- Relationship manager with accounting & audit firms.
- Mastery of our financial reporting software.
- Closing of accounting records in computer system.
- Filing of monthly accounting reports for all properties.
- Accounting file maintenance – paid bills, accounting reports and bank reconciliation files.
- General audit & cleanup of accounting records
- Issuance of monthly and yearend financial reporting package for all portfolio properties and clients.
- Participate in annual operating and capital budget preparation for portfolio properties.
- Financial covenant loan compliance at the property level.
- Maintain a to-do list.
- Responsiveness – sense of urgency.
- Be an active contributor to the performance of the ART team, and seek best practices for the ART team.
- A minimum of two years related experience required, preferably in a real estate development/property management environment.
- 3+ years accounting experience required, preferably in a leadership role.
- College degree preferred.
- Strong core accounting skills and knowledgebase.
- Accounting software experience required (property management software such as App Folio is a plus but not required).
- Excellent computer literacy and capability with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, &Excel), and PDF software.
- Exceptional organization, prioritization, and time management skills required.
- Highly effective and professional communication, both verbal and written.
- Strict adherence to company handbook policy.
- Collaboration skills working with a team.
- Able to self-manage time and projects in order to meet deadlines, often while working independently.
- High-level customer service experience and passion.
- Ability to complete tasks quickly and most importantly, accurately.
